APU Benchmarks, Specifications, and Release Date for AMD Ryzen 8000G Revealed!

Over the years, AMD Ryzen APUs have grown in popularity. The advanced processing unit (APU) is a term used to describe these clever processors because of their strong integrated graphics capability. AMD seems to be preparing to introduce its Zen 4 architecture-based Ryzen 8000G series APUs shortly, which will replace the previously launched Ryzen 5000G series (5700G, 5600G). More information about these new APUs' performance enhancements, specs, and release date has now surfaced via leaks.

Ryzen 8000G Details & Configuration Leak

The data was disseminated via Sakhtafzarmag, a Persian tech media portal. AMD's AM5 platform will host the debut of these new APUs. Both the X3D equivalents and the presently available Ryzen 7000 reside on this socket. This series' top CPU is reportedly the Ryzen 7 8700G.

By nomenclature, it will replace the R7 5700G, the previous generation GPU for AM4 motherboards. It seems like a respectable specification update is in the works! The leak indicates that the Ryzen 8700G will have 16 cores & 8 threads, with a 5.10GHz boost clock speed. For this specific CPU, the TDP setting is 65/45W.

Numerous other APUs are shown here, some of which are part of the PRO lineup, which provides a range of enterprise-focused features. The leak indicates that the Zen 4 cores and Phoenix 1 chip will form the foundation of the Ryzen 7 8700G and 8600G processors. It is said, meanwhile, that some models—like the Ryzen 5 8500G & 8300G—will combine the utilisation of Zen 4 & Zen 4C cores.

In essence, the processors based on Phoenix 2 that will be released will not have the same performance. The leak makes it clear that processors based on Phoenix 1 will enable manual overclocking, whereas processors based on Phoenix 2 would only support Precision Boost Overdrive. Radeon graphics based on the RDNA 3 architecture are anticipated to be included in these upcoming CPUs.

AMD Ryzen 8000G Benchmarks for Performance

We will now discuss the Ryzen 8000 (G Series) APU performance benchmarks as revealed in the leak. In the benchmarks below, the CPU is referred to as Ryzen 7 8000G Phoenix 1 and is not given a name. The significant performance improvement over the Ryzen 7 5000G APU from the previous iteration is evident.

The greatest examples are Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal (RT enabled), where it seems that the Ryzen 7 8000G has shown 2.8 to 2.9x increases. It is obvious that these new chips' RDNA 3 graphics will significantly improve performance. Depending on the game, we may also see performance improvements of about 1.7x to 2.6x in other games.

If this leak turns out to be accurate, the next Ryzen 8000G APUs could come with a very powerful iGPU. After installing this APU, some users would find they no longer want a specialised one, as it would be sufficient for several games. The Ryzen 8000G APU's iGPU performance may be comparable to that of specialised GPUs like the Nvidia GTX 1060. As we can see below, it also performs well in artificial testing. There is a performance boost of around 2.1x and 2.6x in 3DMark Night Raid & Fire Strike, respectively.

Release Date of Ryzen 8000G Spied & Motherboard Vendor Verified

The Ryzen 8000G APUs are slated for release on January 31st, according to the leak. On this day, the desktop AM5 Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 5 8600G, and Ryzen 3 8500G are expected to launch. Additionally, the source indicates AMD may introduce the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, the company's third X3D CPU, for the AM4 platform on the same day. It's unknown whether this will debut locally or globally, similar to the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, which was limited to the US market.

ryzen 8000 release date for upcoming APU teased in bios updates of asus and gigabyte motherboard Website of ASUS and GIGABYTE

Furthermore, Gigabyte has official confirmation that the next-generation Ryzen 8000G APUs for the AM5 platform will ship in 2024. They haven't revealed the generation number "8000," but it's obvious that they're talking about this latest APU series. As of today, when I checked, both ASUS and GIGABYTE, the board manufacturer, have published BIOS upgrades for the impending "Ryzen Next-Gen APUs." Once again, this most likely alludes to the Ryzen 8000 APU (G series) that was the subject of today's leak.

What do you think about AMD's future APUs, the Ryzen 8000 (G series)? Do you believe that many people who purchase such a powerful APU won't need a separate GPU? Tell us in the comments section below.
