When Amazon Prime Video first launched in June, customers could host watch parties with their loved ones to watch movies and TV series together. Twitch, owned by Amazon, has now launched Prime Video watch parties throughout the world.
In light of the Coronavirus epidemic, which has kept most of us inside and prevented us from spending time with friends and family, the relocation has occurred. Additionally, Twitch would benefit strategically from this move. If rumors from recently are to be believed, the platform's non-gaming material has been doing better than its gaming content.
It's really simple to use Twitch's Watch Parties, but in order for anybody to watch, you must broadcast. So remember that. Nevertheless, here's how to establish a watch party right now if you want to watch your favorite movies with friends, fans, and pretty much anybody else who wants to join.
- Go to Stream Manager in your Twitch creator dashboard and click on the “Plus” icon under Quick Actions. Select “Start Watch Party” from the gallery of quick actions.
- Click on ‘Start Watch Party’.
- You will be asked to Log In to Prime Video. Just enter your credentials and allow Twitch the permissions it asks for.
- You can now search for the movie or TV show you want to watch. I’m choosing Harry Potter.
- Click on ‘Select Title’.
- Now, launch your broadcasting software (I’m using Twitch Studio for this tutorial) and enable your microphone and webcam.
- Make sure you have disabled all other video sources, and resize your webcam to fill the entire screen.
- Once you’re happy with all of that, start the stream.
- Now, head back to the web browser, and you will see the ‘Start Watch Party’ button is enabled. Click on it and your watch party will start streaming on Twitch.
Remember that there are some restrictions in place, even if the function has been made available everywhere. First of all, Watch Party is currently limited to the web browser. Furthermore, certain material may not be accessible for Twitch streaming owing to copyright issues and territorial limitations. In addition, all participants in the Watch Party need to be Prime Video subscribers.
