How to Use Snapchat My Eyes Only: An Overview

You may share all of your life's experiences, no matter how large or little, with your friends on Snapchat. But there are certain things you would rather keep private. There is a feature called "My Eyes Only" for such memories. We'll walk you through configuring the My Eyes Only feature and adding your Snaps and Memories to it in this read.

What does Snapchat's "My Eyes Only" mean?

My Eyes Only mode is a password-protected private folder on Snapchat. To make sure that only you can access them in the future, you may save your previously shared Stories, Snapshots, and stored Memories in this folder. You can only access this password-protected folder using the passcode you've set up, which adds an additional degree of protection.

It is a component of Snapchat's Memories feature, which you can access by swiping up from the app's camera view page.

How to Make Snapchat "My Eyes Only"

On Snapchat, the camera page offers the My Eyes Only folder. This is how you configure it.

  1. Open Snapchat and swipe up from the bottom of the viewfinder screen.
  2. This will take you to the Memories page. Here, scroll through the horizontal list of menus.
  3. Tap on My Eyes only option then tap on Set Up.
  4. Enter a 4-digit passcode, then enter it again for confirmation.
  5. Lastly, tap on Continue to complete the setup.
Observation:It is strongly advised that you write down your My Eyes Only passcode in a secure location. Your stuff stored in the folder will be lost if you forget it.

How Do I Put Pictures in My Eyes Only?

After creating the My Eyes Only folder, let's go to the following stage, which is adding your other stuff, including films, photographs, and Snaps. Here's how to go about it.

  1. Swipe up from the camera screen to enter the Memories page.
  2. Here, long press the content you wish to hide.
  3. Now tap on the Hide option from the bottom bar.
  4. In the confirmation prompt, select Move.
  1. Alternatively, you can open a Snap, tap the 3-dots icon, and select Hide Snap (My Eyes Only).

The Snap will disappear when it is relocated and become visible to My Eyes Only. Once the item has been uploaded, you may use your passcode to access it at any time from the specified folder.

How Can My Eyes Only Password Be Reset?

An additional degree of protection is applied to content kept in My Eyes Only. Thus, you won't be able to retrieve it back if you lose the passcode. You won't be able to retrieve it even if you choose the forgot passcode option. Use these instructions if you still want to reset your My Eyes Only password.

  1. Go to the My Eyes Only section on Snapchat.
  2. Tap on Options at the bottom right.
  3. Select Forgot Passcode.
  4. Enter your Snapchat account password and tap on Continue on the next page.

You may now use the function and establish a new passcode.

Using the My Eyes Only folder on Snapchat is done as follows. Although this function is quite helpful in and of itself, I wish there was a method to recover material since passwords are something we forget a lot and I don't want others to miss out on their priceless experiences.
