NVIDIA is developing a GPU. This is a new RTX 30 Series graphics card, not an RTX 40 Series. Both desktop and laptop consumers give serious thought to the RTX 3050 as their first pick for an entry-level graphics card. It is said that a new RTX 3050 graphics card with a modified VRAM capacity will be available very soon.
The source of the latest leak is WCCFTech. The leak indicates that in February 2024, Nvidia will release the RTX 3050 graphics card with 6GB VRAM. A few additional product releases are also planned by Nvidia for early 2024; one of these is the RTX 40 'Super' refresh lineup, which is anticipated to debut at CES 2024.
As of this writing, the desktop RTX 3050 that was just released costs $219.99 and has 8GB of VRAM. According to the leak, the RTX 3050 with 6GB VRAM is anticipated to be on sale for $179. Thus, in comparison to the 8GB model, the new RTX 3050 (6GB) would be around $22% less expensive (about $40 less).
Remember that this number is subject to change since the planned launch is still quite some way off. Furthermore, Nvidia has not said that they are developing this GPU. This new RTX 3050 6GB GPU may have further reduced specs, according to earlier reports. Considering the reduced CUDA Core Count and the 6GB GPU memory, this may also include a different memory bus width.
NVIDIA Is Seeking More RTX Gamers
It seems like Nvidia simply wants more gamers to use RTX graphics cards rather than the older GTX ones, especially with the RTX 3050 (6GB) set to come soon and priced around $200 (based on leaks). According to last month's Steam Survey, the GTX 1650 is the second most popular GPU among the vast Steam gaming community. There's RTX 3060 atop the hill.
If this 6GB RTX 3050 variant is released, the pricing difference between an entry-level RTX card and last-generation GTX cards won't be as great. More players will choose RTX as a result. The extent to which the introduction of new Nvidia GPUs increases the usage of RTX GPUs will become apparent over time.
