How to Remove a Spotify Playlist

Using playlists to listen to your preferred music is a terrific idea. Many playlists are available on streaming services like Spotify to keep the music flowing, but sometimes a playlist may get stale and you stop listening to it. These playlists accumulate in your library over time, therefore you may wish to remove them in order to clear up your account. Here's how to remove a Spotify playlist.

  1. Navigate to Your Library tab inside the Spotify app.
  2. Tap Playlists on the top to filter and show all your playlists.
  1. Tap and hold one of your playlists and tap Delete playlist in the menu that appears.
  2. Finally, tap Delete in the pop-up confirmation.

As an alternative, you may click the 3-dots icon, choose , then press a playlist to see its contents.To remove it, choose Delete Playlist from the overflow menu.

How to Delete a PC Spotify Playlist

  1. On Spotify’s Desktop client, click on Playlists below “Your Library”.
  2. Right-click on a playlist you want to delete and select Delete from the subsequent menu.
  3. Click Delete again in the confirmation popup.
If you did not create the playlist, you may not see the "Delete" option. Instead, because it's a playlist that was stored when it was discovered in the wild, you'll see the "Remove from Your Library" option.

Comparing Deleted versus Removed Playlists

Only playlists that you created from scratch include the Delete Playlist option . If you save someone else's music to your library, the choice won't show up. Your playlist will be deleted .When you remove a playlist from your account, it is permanently deleted ; however, you may search for and add the playlist again.If you are the author of a collaborative playlist, you may delete it from your account, but the contributors will still be able to access it.

Instead, make your playlists private.

You can make a playlist private if you're removing it because you don't want other people to view it. This is how you do it:Through Telephone
  1. Launch the Spotify app on your phone and go to the Your Library tab.
  2. Select a playlist you want to hide, tap on the 3-dots icon.
  3. Noe, select Make private to hide the playlist from the public.
With a PC
  1. Launch the Spotify app and right-click on a playlist from the “Your Library” tab.
  2. Select Make private from the menu that shows up.
Remember that the playlist will still be visible under the Your Library menu.
