Episode 4 of The Boys Season 4: What Killed Ezekiel?

When Ezekiel and Frenchie start fighting in The Boys Season 4 Episode 4, Butcher appears to support his partner. Butcher was unable to maintain his position for very long, and Ezekiel eventually put Butcher in a chokehold. The intriguing part is that, after passing out and believing he is about to die, Butcher wakes up to see Ezekiel has been blasted to pieces. What then killed Ezekiel, and how did he pass away? Let's investigate.

Ezekiel Was Most Likely Killed by the Worm in the Butcher's Body

It seems like the Worm that we have seen crawling beneath Butcher's skin murdered Ezekiel in some way. The worm crawled beneath Butcher's skin just before he passed out, and when he woke up, Ezekiel was blasted to pieces. It's possible that the worm and Butcher have a symbiotic bond that keeps the worm from taking over Butcher's body and murdering Ezekiel.

This is only conjectural, however, given the program did not reveal the abilities that Butchers now possess. Additionally, The Boys Season 4 Episode 4 revealed that Butcher's use of Compound V was the catalyst for the worm's creation. Therefore, it is also possible that Butcher's power is the worm.

Similar blow-to-piece fatalities at the hands (or rather, thinking) of Congresswoman Victoria Neuman have happened before. It's also plausible that Butcher obtained these abilities via Compound V. If this is true, Butcher now has the upper hand on Homelander and may be able to finally exact his wrath.

Okay. This is simply my opinion; let's wait till The Boys' next show to find out if much of it is accurate. Stay tuned till then!
