How to Ping Apple Watch on iOS 17 with an iPhone

You can now use an iPhone to ping the paired Apple Watch without opening the Find My app thanks to a new iOS 17 feature. This means you may use the Control Center on your iPhone to find your Apple Watch fast instead of use Find My. Finding your watch whether it's buried in the back corners of your sofa, in the drawer of your workplace desk, or wherever else is a very useful function.

Now that the much-needed "Ping My Watch" button is accessible in the Control Center, you can find your Apple Watch more easily by having it produce an audible tone. Remember that the iPhone's default Control Center settings do not contain the Ping My Watch button. Thus, you will need to manually add it. These are the actions to follow:

Note: Only when your iPhone and Apple Watch are within Bluetooth range or linked to the same Wi-Fi network will the Ping My Watch function. You will need to use the Find My app to find your Apple Watch in the event that it is lost or stolen.
  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone and visit the Control Center section.
  • Under “More Controls”, tap the green “+” icon for the Ping My Watch option.

  • Now, open the Control Center and tap on the Ping My Watch icon to make your smartwatch beep.
