The Top 12 Zombie Films Ever (2024)

One of the horror genres that terrifies me the most is zombie films. There's only one easy explanation for this. I believe a zombie apocalypse may occur in real life because every zombie movie has either an unidentified virus that humans unearthed, a botched research experiment, or a viral strain that is changing itself. I'll give you a rundown of the best 12 zombie films ever made in case you share my sentiments.

For those who participated in the Scouts throughout their school years, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse will strike a distinct chord. The three buddies who are the only boys remaining enrolled in their school's scouting program are the focus of this zombie comedy film. They are, however, the final line of defense to keep the zombie virus under control when their community is invaded by a zombie apocalypse. It's impossible to watch this movie for more than five minutes without laughing out loud. It's that entertaining. I would strongly advise you to see this R-rated film if you're merely searching for an amusing, well-made zombie film.

Shawn of The Dead (2004)

Once again, Shawn of the Dead is a zombie comedy film that centers on a global zombie pandemic. But the main character of the film is Shawn, a British vagrant who lives with his best friend and works at an electronics shop. Shawn's girlfriend is the one positive aspect of his life; she wants him to mature and move on. But when a zombie epidemic plunges all of Britain into an abyss, Shawn sets out on a risky quest to save his sweetheart and her mother. I think this is the most stereotypically British film you will ever see.

The 2020 film Valley of the Dead

Though the idea of Nazi zombies is not very novel, it never fails to amuse us no matter how often it is brought up. The story of Valley of the Dead centers on the Spanish Civil War, at which point the Nazis began to exert influence over Spain.

The main character of this film, Jan Lozano, a captain of the Fifth Brigade, must work with his sworn adversaries to fight off legions of zombies who were produced by a bizarre Nazi experiment. There are a ton of action scenes in Valley of the Dead, including some of the greatest ones I've seen in a zombie film.

In Overlord, a US Army battalion is tasked with breaking through enemy defenses to destroy a radio transmitter inside a fortified church on D-Day.But as the troops advance toward their goal and encounter legions of Nazi undead, they discover that a far darker game is being played out. You should see Overlord; it's the most egregiously underappreciated zombie film to date.
