Methods for Removing Pictures from Google Photos

For storing images in the cloud on Android smartphones, Google images is a widely used app. Google Photos is the default gallery software that comes preloaded on almost all Android smartphones. Google Photos provides a quick and simple solution to remove many photos that you get from your contacts if you wish to get rid of them right away. This is how to remove images from Google Photos.

Remove Pictures from Google Photos

You may remove photographs from Google photographs using both the online interface and the mobile app. Depending on the device you're using, you may delete them by following the instructions below.

Via Phone

Using the Google Photos app on your phone, you may remove files from both your local and online storage. When you remove anything from Google Photos on an Android device, the item goes to the Bin area of the app. The deleted things are instead transferred to the Recently Deleted area on the Photos (not Google Photos) app, even though the deletion instructions for objects on the iOS version of Google Photos are still the same.

  1. Launch the Google Photos app and select an image you want to delete.
  2. Tap on Delete at the bottom right and select Move to bin.
  1. To delete multiple items, long-press on a photo/video, select the photos you want to delete one by one, and tap on Delete at the bottom.
  2. You can also long-press on a photo, then glide your fingers over multiple photos to quickly select them and hit Delete. To see more pictures in view, use two fingers to pinch out.
  3. You can also delete all pictures from a month by check the tick circle and then tapping on Delete.
Using PC

You have the ability to remove the images and videos you have added to Google Photos while using a computer. The method is as follows.

  1. Go to photos.google.com and log in to your Google account if you haven’t already.
  2. Select a picture, click on the Bin icon on the top right and select Move to trash.
  3. You can delete multiple pictures by hovering over the photos and clicking on the tick sign. Now, select the pictures you want to delete and click on the Bin icon > Move to trash
  4. You can also select multiple image by pressing the Shift key, hovering over consecutive images and then deleting them as suggested above.

How to Retrieve Deleted Pictures from Google Photos

All of the removed images are kept in the Bin area instead of being permanently removed. The likelihood is that the picture you're searching for is in Google Photos' Trash bin if you deleted it less than sixty days ago. This is how to get pictures back from the Bin.

  1. Launch Google Photos and navigate to Library > Bin.
  2. Here, long-press on the photos you want to restore. You can also hold and glide to select multiple photos in quick succession.
  3. Tap on Restore at the bottom.

  1. Visit photos.google.com/trash if you’re already logged in to your Google account.

Delete Pictures From Google Photos Permanently

  1. Navigate to Library > Bin inside the Google Photos app.
  2. Now, long-press to select the photos you want to delete. You can also press hold and glide to select multiple photos.
  3. Tap on Delete at the bottom left and select Delete permanently.
  1. You can also delete all the photos from a specific month by tapping on the tick sign adjacent to the month and selecting Delete > Delete permanently.
  2. If you want to delete all photos at once, tap the 3-dots icon at the top right and select Empty bin.
TelephoneWithin PC
  1. Go to photos.google.com/trash if you’re already signed in to your Google account.
  2. Hover over the images and click the tick sign to select the ones you want to delete.
  3. Once selected, click Delete permanently on the top right.
  4. If you want to delete all the images in the trash, just click on Empty trash at the top right.
