Naruto: All Rasengan Versions (Explained)

Did you know that "Halo Frozen Dessert Hair Whorl Jiraiya Twin Formula Sphere" was originally intended to be the name of Rasengan? It was verified because the author, Minato, want to honor his sensei, Jiraiya. Fortunately, however, his wife Kushina thought of the clever name Rasengan for this neat trick. It is without a doubt one of the strongest Jutsu ever made in the Naruto world. From that point on, his son Naruto and his grandson Boruto modified the method and created a number of powerful, distinctive Rasengan iterations. Discover all the many kinds of Rasengan in the Naruto and Boruto universe by continuing to read.

Warning About Spoilers:This article includes spoilers on the various Rasengan species seen in Naruto and Boruto. To prevent spoiling the intended experience, we advise seeing the Naruto and Boruto anime or reading the manga beforehand.

All of the Rasengan kinds that may be seen in the Naruto and Boruto series have now been listed. These are as follows:

1. Rasengan

The most common kind of Rasengan, the normal Rasengan, was the first one we saw in Naruto. We first saw Naruto employing the three fundamental methods to construct a Rasengan, which Jiraiya had taught him. This was against Kabuto. This demonstrated the potency of the basic Rasengan, and Naruto continued to refine it into an even more potent jutsu.

Many ninjas, including Konohamaru, Boruto, and his son Naruto, inherited this basic Rasengan skill from Minato. Sasuke and Jiraiya agreed that Rasengan was better than Chidori.

2. Rasengan Vermillion

Due to the fact that this version of Rasengan is powered by the Nine-Tails chakra while Naruto is in his one-tailed form, it is also often referred to as the Demon Fox Rasengan or the Nine-Tails Rasengan.

Nor is it necessary for Naruto's clone to intervene on his behalf because of his one-tailed appearance. Above all, this Rasengan is stronger than the standard one. The only other kind that we saw in the original Naruto before the time travel was this one. Everything that was shown after the time-skip was the next versions.

3. Rasengan: Sage Technique

Naruto's Senjutsu may be put to great use when he switches into Sage Mode. This may be used to create a more potent version of his standard Rasengan. This was the first step toward realizing that he could use Senjutsu to enhance other skills he already had.

As a result, he continued to incorporate sage art into several of the potent Rasengan procedures. They are all discussed below, which may help clarify how this works.

4. Serial Spheres Spiraling

An alternative use of the method is the Spiralling Serial Spheres, also referred to as Twin Rasengan or Rasengan Barrage. Naruto makes one Rasengan in each hand as opposed to making one in one. He may thus utilize the twin Rasengans in the palm of his hand to wreak havoc. This form also exists in a variety, which we have discussed below.

5. Spiralling Serial Spheres: A Sage Technique

A variant of the standard Spiralling Serial Spheres is this one. Although the idea is the same as above, I think you can immediately see the differences. In this part, Naruto is creating the twin Rasengans in Sage Mode. Senjutsu increases the Rasengans' total power level, enabling them to deal far harder strikes to the opponent.

6. Big Ball Rasengan

This variety is a larger and more powerful Rasengan, as the name suggests. It takes a lot of chakra to develop a larger and stronger Resengan than the standard one. Fortunately, Naruto had a plenty of chakra, which he completely used to create this Big Ball Rasengan.

This was deadly to the core, even if Naruto happened to stumble across it. We discuss an even more potent version of it just below.

7. Big Ball Rasengan, Sage Art

This is the same Big Ball Rasengan, but it was created when Naruto was in sage mode thanks to Senjutsu's influence. The Rasengans are enhanced by the Sage mode, which grants them a massive boost. This is also the case, as we witnessed in the Pain arc in Naruto, when Naruto may utilize one of his shadow clones to create two large Rasengan balls that are amplified by his sage mode, causing massive havoc.

8. Spiral Absorption Sphere - Big Ball

Naruto shown great intelligence by improving the Big Ball Rasengan method. It's always possible for your target to slip away or for your Rasengan to miss the objective. Thus, in his nine-tails form, Naruto first creates a Big Ball Rasengan with his chakra arms.

The adversaries are then forced to fight the Rasengan by him using his additional chakra arms; this is more akin to their being absorbed into it, which is why the sphere is named after it. You can now understand how effective this tactic is because, should one be caught, there is no way out.

9. Spiralling Serial Zone Spheres - Big Ball

Naruto and his clones using Big Ball - Spiralling Serial Zone Spheres

Just when we thought Naruto couldn't utilize the Spiral Absorption Sphere more effectively than the Big Ball Rasengan, he came up with another incredible concept: Spiralling Serial Zone Spheres. Using his own Multiple Shadow Clone method, he first makes a ton of clones before using this approach. Then, using these clones, he creates a number of Big Ball Rasengans, which all ram into their targets, essentially destroying them.

10.

Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan

This is the larger variant of the already large ball Rasengan, as the name implies. More power is included in the greater size than in any previous variant. This kind takes a lot more chakra than the standard huge ball type, as you may have already surmised. To apply this method, one must be bursting at the seams with chakra energy. Thus, over time, Naruto was able to become proficient with this technique and even perform it on his own in the Boruto series.

11. Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan

Sage Art

Like all the other Rasengans inspired by sage art, Naruto also employed the Ultra Big Ball method that was already in use. This increased the Rasengan's potency to an unprecedented degree and made it function like a ticking time bomb that might blow up a mountain. The anime showed us the full might of this method as it broke through the enormous God's tree. Jiraiya also used this on one of the six Pains, as we saw.

12. Numerous Ultra-Big Ball Spiralling Serial Spheres in Sage Art

It just takes one Big Ball Rasengan to do a ton of damage. What if we made a ton of really large ball rasengans? Indeed! To combat Kurama, the Nine Tails, Naruto devised this astounding move. He started by making a lot of shadow clones using a Rasengan. He then changed to the Sage mode, enhancing every Rasengan to become ultra-large ball Rasengans. With numerous enormous, ultra-big ball rasengans at his disposal, he could now defeat everything in his path

13. Rasengan: Wind Release

Conceptually, the wind release Rasengan method is straightforward. Rasengan's inventor, Minato, always intended to include his nature change into the method, but his untimely death prevented him from doing so. Nevertheless, by incorporating his wind change into the Rasengan, his son Naruto was able to do this.As Konohamaru and Boruto were able to merge their nature changes into it, this method was further embraced and improved. This produced a large number of strong Rasengan, each with a distinctive appearance. Above, one can see the variations in wind release: Rasengan's shuriken, air stream, and ring. The best thing about this method is that, in contrast to the other kinds, the Rasengan may be thrown

14. Rasenshuriken: Wind Release

Soon after learning about the wind release Rasengan, Naruto found a larger and more powerful variant. Throughout the series, this was the most often used Rasenshuriken method.Using his clones, Naruto skillfully handled every aspect of the technique, from holding the chakra to deftly incorporating its spinning nature. It became a Shuriken as a consequence, and it was given the name Rasenshurken. This is a potent kind of Rasengan that may be used to overwhelm adversaries. In addition, when in Sage Mode, Naruto may use two or more Rasenshuriken. He was able to utilize several Rasenshurikens with ease in his ultimate nine-tails form. In addition, he was able to create smaller versions of the Rasenshuriken, which is supposedly its most potent form.

15. Rasengan Planetary

Naruto using Planetary Rasengan

During the fourth ninja battle, Naruto created a new planetary technique that could defeat even the strongest Shinobis when he entered Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. Thus, he made a large rasengan and around it with smaller rasengans, like a moon circling a planet. The lesser ones create a vortex as they circle around the larger ones, thus the name "Planetary Rasengan." When one comes into touch with this higher kind of Rasengan, one cannot resist it and will need a significant amount of time to heal

16. Rasengan, the Tailed Beast

The Tailed Beast Rasengan is the most imperfect of all the Rasengans. After a few attempts, Naruto was unable to come up with this concept despite his extraordinary ability to think about it. Using the chakra arms, Naruto created a Rasengan (a replacement for the tailed beast ball) in his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. This Rasengan is much heavier than the others.Naruto entirely ruled out this form of Rasengan and didn't fully perfect it, since he was able to make the Super Mini-Tailed Beast Ball later in the conflict

17. Magnet Release Rasengan, Sage Art

Naruto was able to combine two of the most intriguing and potent techniques while in his Six Paths Sage phase, giving birth to one of the most Overpowered Rasengan ever.Naruto created the Magnet Release Rasengan by fusing his Rasengan with Shukaku's (one-tail) magnet release. The reason this is so unique is that the marks cover the whole target's body, leaving them immobile and paralyzed as soon as contact occurs.

18. Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken: Six Paths

This is one of the powerful methods Naruto learned to negate Sasuke's abilities. Using his Six Paths Sage Mode, Naruto was able to use Six Paths Senjutsu to create clones of this Kurama-incorporated form and merge these clones into one.He produced a Tailed Beast Ball Rasenshuriken in one hand and an Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken in another using his numerous hands. The devastating potential of this method is just unbelievable!

19. Gently Step With Twin Lion Fists Spiraling

Naruto combined his two extreme skills with those of his wife Hinata to create a new Rasengan. They succeeded in creating the Gentle Step Spiralling Twin Lion Fists method by fusing his Rasengan with Hinata's Eight Trigrams Twin Lions Crumbling Attack. This is just one more of Naruto's most powerful moves in history. This technique was so powerful that it totally destroyed Tenseigan, as shown in The Last: Naruto the Movie, which is, incidentally, a canonical film. 20. Rasengan's disappearance

That concludes our discussion of the various Rasengan in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Let's now examine the Rasengans that Boruto has in store for us:
Boruto using Vanishing Rasengan

Naruto has created many iterations of Rasengan, don't you think? His son Boruto is now carrying on the tradition by producing his own renditions of Rasengan. The Vanishing Rasengan is the first one he thought of.It's a Rasengan that, as the name suggests, can vanish into thin air, that is, it can become undetectable while still hitting its target. This is a fantastic technique that has the ability to surprise adversaries and cause massive damage to them.

21]. Unison Rasengan

Boruto and Kawaki using Rasengan Unison

Compared to all the other varieties of Rasengan, this one is more of a cooperative jutsu. When two people engage their Kāma, they may now focus their energies on their partner, such as offering assistance, and enhance a Rasengan's primary attributes, which are size and power. Rasengan Unison can destroy everyone who stands in their way since they now possess twice as much energy.

22]. Rasengan Compression

Boruto using Compression Rasengan
Photo courtesy of Studio Pierrot (Fandom): Naruto Series
It is a compressed variant of Rasengan, as the name suggests. Nevertheless, won't compression lessen its effectiveness and usefulness anyhow? But allow me to explain the unique use for this kind of Rasengan. This Jutsu was created by Boruto, so let's see how it was made feasible. He generated the Rasengan with one hand and condensed it with the other, compressing it to its finish. The Rasengan is said to be a non-lethal strike against strong defenses since Boruto was able to compress it effectively. However, the force it produces has the ability to shake and knock someone unconscious. Additionally, since it has the potential to harm the user, this is a rather dangerous approach to execute.

23]. Spiraling Bullet Rasengan

This is a stronger version of the previously shown compressed Rasengan. You probably have realized by now how this Rasengan is manufactured based on its name. To make their Rasengan resemble a bullet, the user may compress it.Additionally, the user may aim this little Rasengan at their target in the same manner as we would if we were imitating firing with a two-finger pistol. After being launched, the bullet Rasengan possesses a strong penetrating power that may bring the target to the ground

24. Extremely Large Ball Rasengan

NARUTO USING Super-Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan

The very large ball Rasengan was seen in the Naruto anime series, and an even better version exists. Naruto continues growing Rasengan's stature in order to create new skills. The user constructs an enormous Rasengan here, equivalent in size to a large asteroid, and upon impact, it completely destroys everything in its path, leaving behind a vast crater

25. Rich Red Spiral

Momoshiki using Deep Crimson Spiral

In the Boruto series, we have seen our heroes build Rasengans before, but this time we saw the antagonist produce one for the first time. Using the abilities of his Rinnegan, Momoshiki amplifies the chakra to make it bigger and more red, releasing a Rasengan. This Rasengan is almost as large as the super-ultra-big-ball version, as you can see. It was also striking because, instead of the usual blue hue, it was a rich scarlet.

26. Rasengan, Parent and Child

Minato and Naruto & Naruto and Boruto using Parent and Child Rasengan.
Photo courtesy of Studio Pierrot (Fandom): Naruto Series
The Parent and Child Rasengan is an extremely strong Rasengan technique that has defeated several formidable enemies, including Obito and Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki. Thus, as the name suggests, the father and son unite their formidable rasengans into one, creating this large rasengan that resembles a globe. During the Fourth Ninja War, Minato and Naruto initially accomplished this, and subsequently, Naruto and Boruto did the same against Momoshiki. When a father and kid combine their rasengans, the result is incredible and can break through any obstacle to deal the opponent a crushing blow. It's a powerful trick they can do whenever they want, but because it's a collaboration jutsu, both parent and kid must be there at the same moment.

27]. Uzuhiko Rasengan

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is one of the greatest games available at the moment. An excellent continuing release. We are loving every second of it, as it is undoubtedly the ideal return that our supporters have been waiting for. The second chapter of the manga disclosed that Boruto has acquired a new skill set, namely a Rasengan named "Uzuhiko" (vortex).Uzuhiko is derived from the Japanese mythological God of Wind, Shinatsuhiko, and means literally "Spiralling Sphere," as explained in our Rasengan Uzuhiko explainer. It was discovered that this kind of Rasengan draws its force not just from chakra but also from planetary motion , which causes the opponent to become confused when struck. That is all there is to know about the many Rasengans that have been depicted in the Naruto and Boruto series so far. Tell us about your favorite kind of rasengan in the comments section below. We hope this tutorial was helpful in explaining all the many types of rasengan.
