WhatsApp Upgrades Chat Lock with a "Secret Code" to Improve Privacy!

Today, WhatsApp is releasing an additional update that includes a new feature called Secret Code, which strengthens the security of the Chat Lock feature that was previously available. You effectively have two levels of security for your private discussions if you use both at once.

How is the operations for an unauthorized person to access your protected conversations once you have set up a secret code.

You must enter the secret code in WhatsApp's search box in order to access the protected conversations. Only then do your secret, restricted discussions reappear. As shown in the above example, your secret code might be a sentence, an emoji, or a combination of the two. However, in order to access your secret conversations, you must enter it. Furthermore, if you have that configured, you will also need to input the real chat lock password.

Previously, Meta had added a chat lock function to WhatsApp, allowing you to secure private chats using a password, fingerprint, or Face ID. In just a few minutes, you can set up the chat lock in WhatsApp on both iOS and Android.

For those who do not know, when you activate chat lock for a discussion on WhatsApp, the message and contact details will not appear in the conversation's alerts. The secret code is a little excessive, and the conversation lock function seemed sufficient when it was first implemented. Better security is still something that a lot of consumers want these days. We really appreciate the improved security and privacy-enhancing features!

The new Secret Code feature is being sent out to customers beginning today, according to a blog post from WhatsApp. Check WhatsApp on your phone; you may have received it already! If you haven't yet, however, don't worry—Meta also said that "[Chat Lock] will be available globally in the coming months."
