The illegitimate son of Lord Corlys, Addam Hull, rides Seasmoke
In case you missed it, the second season of House of the Dragon revealed a shocking solution to a long-standing mystery that left readers of the novel wondering. Alyn's identity was revealed to Princess Rhaenys earlier in episode 4, and she said that Lord Corlys had a duty to respect and nurture him. This effectively proved that Lord Corlys and Marilda of Hull are not the real parents of the boys Alyn and Addam Hull. They are therefore the first "dragon seeds" that the program has shown to us.
Even in the sixth episode of today, Alyn discussed how "Rather than call them his sons, the Sea Snake (Lord Corlys) would have High Tide claimed by the sea." Addam said that his father was still ignoring him the way he always did. Addam clearly wanted the noble title and the money that went along with it, even if Alyn didn't want it. Additionally, he seems to be captivated with dragons in previous episodes, so it is only natural that he would yearn for them.
Addam Hull asserts ownership of Seasmoke Dragon
Fortunately, toward the end, the vicious Seasmoke dragon that had previously crisped Ser Steffon Darklyn wandered about looking for a master. Seasmoke materialized in front of Addam Hull after sensing the Velaryon blood in him. It should be mentioned that both House Targaryen and House Velaryon have ancient Valerian ancestry, which is also referred to as "the Blood of the Dragon."
The wild Seasmoke dragon at House of the Dragon is thus being ridden by Addam Hull, the new dragon rider in town, as was previously hinted. Before Seasmoke vanished, Ser Laenor Velaryon, the first son of Lord Corlys, rode him in the beginning. The same dragon has now selected Addam Hull, his half-brother, to be its new master. Addam and his brother will soon be recognized as Velaryons. This is an amazing and unexpected link that also appears in GRRM's novel. Let's wait and see whether Addam and Seasmoke will have a significant part in the Dance of the Dragons.
