[FIXED: UPDATE] Many users report that WhatsApp is down, but you're not alone

No, you're not the only one having trouble using WhatsApp at the moment. Due to the messaging platform's current outage, many users worldwide are unable to contact their friends or loved ones.

This has been independently confirmed by us. Attempting to contact someone at this moment will result in the message just having a clock symbol next to it, indicating that it hasn't been sent. As can be seen in the picture below, DownDetector is a well-known website for monitoring outages in real time, and complaints have begun to pile up.

It seems like the outage began at about 11:40 PM IST. Meta's status page was updated to reflect the continuing troubles, although it did not mention any server-related issues. Just seconds ago, the status of the WhatsApp Business API was changed to "Major disruptions: Cloud API." is the error message that appears."We are now having service issues with Cloud API due to an outage."

As of this writing, there don't seem to be any server disruptions affecting Facebook, Instagram, or other Meta services.

Also, a number of users have resorted to social networking sites such as X (previously Twitter) to confirm whether they are the only ones experiencing message delivery issues. Currently trending on X is the hashtag #WhatsAppDown. Users are affected by the outage on both the web and mobile applications.

[UPDATE | 04/04/2012, 12:10 IST] – For me at least, WhatsApp seems to be making a full recovery from the outage. I can send and receive texts now. In your opinion?

Additionally, WhatsApp recognized the outage in an official tweet, however many users now seem to be able to use the messaging program, particularly those in India.
