Soon, making calls on WhatsApp will be safer because to a new feature that the messaging app owned by Meta has added. This function will shield your IP address while making calls on WhatsApp. Examine the information provided below.
The "Protect IP Address in Calls" feature of WhatsApp
The new function of WhatsApp, "Protect IP Address in Calls", will route calls via WhatsApp servers and conceal your IP address from other callers. According to Meta, "this new feature offers an extra degree of security and privacy, especially for our most privacy-conscious users.""
Additionally, WhatsApp calls will be end-to-end encrypted, protecting your discussions with other users from prying eyes. This function is comparable to iOS's ability to conceal your IP address, which was included with iOS 15. The Safari settings allow you to activate this. Check read our post on how to mask your IP address on your iPhone to learn more about this.
By going to the Privacy settings on the app and choosing the Advanced option, you will be able to conceal your IP address. The option "Preserve IP address in calls" may be enabled or disabled. It should be noted that there is a drawback to activating this option; the call quality will be decreased.
This is on top of the newly added 'Silence Unknown Callers' feature. Whatsapp does this by sending the recipient a "specialized protocol for delivering stripped-down, silenced call notifications". Once enabled, calls from unknown individuals—possibly spam—won't be reported to you. To keep you informed about the callers, they will continue to appear in the call records. If you are still unsure about how to use this function, see here.
