Apple Watch may have a significant year this year. There have been long-running rumors about an upcoming overhaul of the Apple Watch. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the Apple Watch Series 10 of this year may undergo a significant redesign that includes a bigger display and a slimmer design.
According to Kuo's most recent Medium article, the 2024 Apple Watch will have a slimmer design and more screen size possibilities, ranging from 41mm to 45mm and 45mm to 49mm. That is a somewhat abrupt leap, to be sure. The new larger model would match the screen size of the Apple Watch Ultra, and the new form factors with larger screens would make the smallest Apple Watch Series 10 as big as the current larger model of the Series 9.
It's interesting to note that the slimmer design claim supports Mark Gurman's story from yesterday, according to which Apple is developing thinner designs for future MacBook Pro, Watch, and iPhone models. This year saw the release of Apple's thinnest device to date, the 13-inch iPad Pro M4. With its next Apple products for 2024, the Cupertino tech behemoth may want to continue along these lines.
Additionally, Kuo predicted that this year's Apple Watch Ultra will be "roughly the same." Apple may, however, debut a brand-new dark/black casing color choice.
Apple plans to begin producing Apple Watch components using 3D printing later this year. After rigorous testing to increase manufacturing efficiency, this will start. Kuo reports that BLT will provide the 3D-printed parts.
In order to commemorate the Apple Watch's tenth anniversary, Mark Gurman has revealed that the 2024 model may be known as the "Apple Watch X." This option is not included in the latest Kuo reports. Gurman added that Apple is thinking of a smaller chassis with a magnetic band connection technology.
It's unclear, however, whether the system will be prepared for the Apple Watch of 2024. In the next months, when additional rumors begin to surface, we'll have a more firm understanding. Alongside the new iPhones, the Apple Watch Series 10 is anticipated to launch later this year.
