Connectivity's response for March 30

Have you managed to solve the problem yet? Then the following are the answers to today's Connections:

  • BREATHES HEAVILY – Gasps, Huffs, Pants, Puffs
  • PRESERVES, AS MEAT – Cans, Cures, Salts, Smokes
  • PREDICAMENTS – Binds, Jams, Pickles, Spots
  • THINGS IN “MY FAVORITE THINGS” – Kettles, Mittens, Raindrops, Whiskers

Today, the NYT Connections experimented with a fascinating blend of vintage music and meat preservation. I started out by figuring out the Yellow category. I had an enormous "Aha!" moment when I saw these words since I'm a chronically unfit person. I instantly fit the category.

Even though I don't eat a lot of meat, I've heard enough about cures and smokes to draw the link. When I added salt and cans, my score was Green. With the Blue category, I nearly got into a little bind, but an internet buddy pulled me out of it.

I was down to four words, as usual. I used them all together to solve the NYT Connections puzzle for March 30 and the Blue category.
