WhatsApp's Support for Passkeys on iPhone Is Nearing

It has been claimed that WhatsApp is now supporting passkeys in the iOS app, which means another day, another new WhatsApp Beta update. Android smartphones began to get passkeys in October of last year. Support for iPhones, however, was still lacking. However, based on this update, it seems that passkey integration for iOS WhatsApp will be available shortly.

The most recent WhatsApp beta version 24.2.10.73 for iOS reportedly shows us the passkey creation page inside the iOS app, according to WABetaInfo's report. This suggests that passkey functionality for the iOS app may arrive very soon.

Just in case you're unaware, Passkeys enable you to safely sign in to your WhatsApp account without requesting a six-digit number by using biometrics such as Face ID or Touch ID. It guarantees that the login procedure is smooth and removes any possibility of account breach.

The setup screen for WhatsApp's Passkey functionality for iOS can be seen in the image above. If users choose, they may configure it or stick with the standard passcode technique. You may always deactivate passkeys in the settings. In order to log in to a device that does not support passkeys, you will need to ask for a six-digit number.Users won't be forced to use a sign-in method they don't want to in this manner. But because Passkeys are more secure, we definitely advise switching; even X (previously Twitter) has embraced this feature on iOS. If you are unable to obtain the login code, it should also assist you with logging in.As previously said, the functionality is currently being developed. Furthermore, there is no set date for when it will be revealed. Ideally, however, it will happen sooner rather than later. I am thrilled that Passkeys have been added to the iOS version of WhatsApp, since I have already transitioned to them on the majority of my Android applications.Have you used Passkeys yet?
