The Boys Season 4: An Explanation of Black Noir's Comeback

Many were surprised to see Black Noir out and about in the teaser for The Boys Season 4. Fans were very aback by this considering The Boys Season 3 showed Homelander punching a hole through Black Noir. When The Boys Season 4 premiered, the original belief that Black Noir had passed away in Season 3 was disproved. In light of this, how is Black Noir still alive and why was his death kept a secret? Let's investigate.

In The Boys Season 4, a completely new persona wears a mask in lieu of the original Black Noir, who was brutally assassinated by Homelander in Season 3. The creator, Eric Kripke, said that Nathan Mitchell's portrayal of Black Noir in Season 4 would be a completely new character. Prior to this, Fritzy-Klevans Destine portrayed the unmasked version of the supe, while Nathan Mitchell served as Black Noir's stuntman.
"The character [Mitchell] dons the Black Noir costume is distinct. We will undoubtedly witness more heroic adventures from Black Noir in the future. Simply said, the man who was wearing [the Noir suit] in season three is no longer there. However, Nathan will be portraying a humorous and intriguing character that dons the outfit in the next season. - Eric Kripke

Although we do not yet know the character that Nathan Mitchell plays by name, we do know that he is able to soar. Other than that, we are unaware of any of his abilities, so let's wait and see if the program continues to disclose anything else.

However, Why Was Black Noir Reintroduced?

But Why Was Black Noir Brought Back?

Given that Vought portrays The Seven as a bunch of superheroes that are almost like a family, Black Noir was one of the most well-liked characters in the series. News of Homelander murdering Black Noir would destroy the reputation of Vought and The Seven if it leaked out. To preserve The Seven's reputation and for commercial and marketing objectives, Black Noir returned in The Boys Season 4 with a new persona.

Even still, Nathan Michell's character, who goes by Black Noir, is very dubious about Homelander's ability to consistently force them to commit strange and evil deeds. He also finds it annoying because no one ever explains to him why he is acting in a certain manner.

I have a feeling that this new character will do something that will have a big impact on the plot of The Boys Season 4. But until we find out, we'll have to wait for more episodes. In the meanwhile, follow us for more updates!
